How did International Women's Day get started?

In the year 1908, about 15,000 women in New York City protested against reducing their working hours and increasing wages.

National Women's Day was started by the American Socialist Party just a year after this protest by the women of New York.

To make National Women's Day international, a woman named "Clara Zetkin" presented her ideas at an "International Conference of Working Women" held inside the city of Copenhagen in the year 1910.

More than 100 women representatives from about 17 countries participated in the "International Conference of Working Women",

The suggestion of "Clara Zetkin" was considered in the International Conference and it was made for the first time in the year 1911 as International Women's Day in Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Germany.
